At the crossroads of the Limousin, Quercy, and Périgord regions in southwestern France, the opening of the weekly market is imminent. Au carrefour du Limousin, du Quercy et du Périgord, l’ouverture du marché est imminente. Les marchands s’activent. Ils installent leurs marchandises, organisent au mieux leur achalandage pour le mettre en valeur dans le chaos de la ruelle pavée qui se gonfle de l’afflux des curieux. Un peu plus haut, les pèlerins descendent le chemin de croix en direction du sanctuaire dédié à Notre Dame. Ils viennent se recueillir dans l’une de ses sept chapelles. Agrippés à une entaille du plateau calcaire, habitats et édifices religieux sont coiffés par une imprenable sentinelle, le château de Rocamadour.
