At the crossroads of the Limousin, Quercy, and Périgord regions in southwestern France, the opening of the weekly market is imminent. Merchants are ready to welcome the crowd in the chaos of the narrow streets. Higher, the monks are walking on the mountain trail to converge upon the pilgrimage church of Notre Dame. Paramotor vol bivouac from Paris to Basse-Ham

Last June (2008), the biggest world paramotor meeting took place at Basse-Ham, France. I participated in the event in my own way with a vol bivouac from my home near Paris, to Basse-Ham. More important than the flight itself was the way I did it. I chose to have no assistance and had two simple rules: 1) Take off late to have at least one night camping; 2) When landing, only ask for petrol.
